We continued our study of how to draw the human figure by learning how to do gesture drawing.

We discussed how to look at a pose and find the "line of action," or where the motion of the pose lies. Then, we placed the head, the chest, and the hips along the line, then added general shapes of each body part before finally adding details. We did timed drawings going from many quick ones to a few longer drawings. The second period, we used one pose to draw a full character in.
