Modern Architecture Meets Open Space: Research at Takanawa Gateway Station!🚉

We continued our station research project today with a visit to Takanawa Gateway!

It was fascinating to see the sharp contrast between today’s stop and our previous location. While our last station was bustling with countless shops and commercial energy, Takanawa Gateway offered a completely different vibe—highlighted by wide-open views, airy architectural design, and integrated green spaces.

 

The students observed how design choices shape a station's atmosphere and functionality, taking notes on how open layouts and natural elements affect both commuters and visitors. It provided fantastic comparative data for our project, helping us see that great station design comes in many different forms! 📝🌿
