Making Slime
For our activity in ATLAS, we made slime!
The students went outside at a local park to make slime together. They got in a large group and learned how to make slime out of simple ingredients that can even be made at home.
The ingredients were put into a big tub where they mixed everything together. They also added food coloring to give the slime color. The students used teamwork and took turns adding and mixing the ingredients.
Making a large piece of slime was very enjoyable for the students. The huge size of it made it more fun. They could not believe their eyes as the mixture started turning into slime the more and more they mixed it.
By making one big piece of slime, the students were able to really see the change in the texture as the liquid became thicker, denser, and harder to stir.
Everyone was excited and impressed how slimy the slime became after seeing all of the different things were mixed into one. The students enjoyed playing with it by seeing how far it could stretch, how sticky it was, and making different shapes with it.
ATLAS really had a good time making something so fun out of the everyday supplies that could be found at home. They are thrilled to learn more by what they could make and do next.
