Imitation Art ✏️
For our art project this week, the students observed vegetables placed in front of them and to draw them in extreme detail.
They had to look at them closely and take notice to things like the lighting, shading, textures, the angle from their point of view, and color blends.

They observed cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers that were cut so they could draw the inside as well.

First they sketched the outline. Then they began to color it with color pencils while blending the colors together to give it more detail. They added shading to give it a three dimensional look that added depth to their drawing. They also added the shadow with a pencil that the vegetable casted on the surface where it was set. To finish, they used their fingers to rub the pencil shadow to blend it together and smooth it out.

The students did very well and paid close attention to detail while drawing their vegetable. They enjoyed blending the colors together to create a more accurate color that they did not think could be done using colored pencils.

All of their art work turned out well!
