Earth Science!
This week at ATLAS Gotanda, we had to choose a new topic in our major subject study. The class was given a few choices that they could choose from. They decided to learn about Earth science this term!

We went over what we are going to learn about under this topic and they were very interested in learning about the planet that we live on. We also discussed the experiments that we are going to do and they showed excitement about getting to do some in class together.

In our first lesson, we discussed three major rock types that make up the Earth. We covered igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock types. We went over how each are different and how they are formed. They were showed different types of each and they were able to visibly able to see the characteristics about each of the three types.

After, they got into three groups to make a poster for each of the three types of rocks. They wrote down key traits and physical features that differentiates them. They also chose a few under their type of rock and drew pictures while labeling them.
