Recent Art pieces at ATLAS!

Students have been having a blast exploring colors with different materials like watercolor, oil pastels, markers, and acrylic paint. The theme lately has been nature, with inspiration from birds and flowers.

Last week, the students used markers to color plastic vinyl to look like stained glass windows. They taped a sheet of plastic over a picture of a bird on the window, traced it, and then colored it in. After that, they carefully cut out the outline to create beautiful stained glass art pieces.

The week before, students used oil pastels and watercolor to make flower art. Since oil pastels and watercolor don’t mix, they could create solid lines with oil pastels that didn’t smudge when they added watercolor. It was a fun way to learn about different art techniques.
