Grilling Sweet Potatoes

For our field trip this week, the students went out to a park to grill sweet potatoes and marshmallows!

The students and teacher traveled there by train. Once they arrived, they had to setup their campfire. Everyone got together and helped make the fire so they could start cooking their sweet potatoes.

First, the students had to gather rocks for a barrier and a stand.

After the rocks were set, they needed to gather firewood to lite the fire. They collected small and large pieces to help start the fire.

After getting all of the necessary things to make the fire, the students had some down time to relax and play around. As the teachers were making the fire, the students were able to climb around and have some fun at the park.

When the fire started going, they were able to roast and their sweet potatoes and enjoy them.

As soon as they finished eating their sweet potatoes, everyone had the chance to roast marshmallows on the fire. It was a fun experience for them to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and play around at the park.

They can not wait for their next field trip!
