Math Class
Take a look into our math class at ATLAS Gotanda!
For one of our math lessons this week, the students looked at how to do calculations with money.
The students were interested in math involving how to calculate money as they like to save and get money.
We discussed terms like dollars ($) and cents (¢). We also talked about purchase (buy), expenses (costs), profit, deposit, and withdraw.

After discussing what the terms meant, we took a look in our textbooks and worked on some addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations with numbers.

Then, we answered word problems involving money. We had to calculate total expenses, gross and net profit, and which bundles were the best value in terms of cost per item.

It challenged the students, but they enjoyed using math in real life experiences that they could relate to.
They did really well in the lesson. Great job, everyone!
