Smooth Sailing in Science! Buoyancy!

Our students recently dove into a hands-on exploration of fluid mechanics by designing, building, and testing their very own aluminum foil boats. Through this interactive STEM challenge, they put key scientific principles into practice, studying how mass and density directly impact a structure's buoyancy. After calculating their boats' potential weight limits, students put their designs to the ultimate test in the water, adding weights to see just how much load their vessels could handle before sinking. It was an incredible exercise in engineering, critical thinking, and the scientific method that left everyone excited to see what we'll investigate next!
