Atlas Tachikawa School - May Week 2 Update

Welcome back to the Atlas blog for Tachikawa! We hope you have had a wonderful week.

With the change from Spring to Summer, our Atlas students have been focusing on studying the natural world. From the animals that populate it to the nature that covers it, we have been observing our life on Earth.

Our big projects this week have been a visit to the park and learning about farm animals. Take a look below to see what we have been up to!

Park Life

After a short visit to the park, we took pictures to see how vibrant our lives have become since Golden Week ended. Then, using those pictures, we recorded how it looks with pencil, coloured pencil, and pastel crayons.

Farm Animals

Alongside Access, Atlas students are also learning about farm animals. The main focus this week was on baby animals! Do you know the names of baby farm animals? Let us know in the comments! Also, let us know which animals you think are the cutest. We ranked them from 1-8. Check it out below.

Salamanders and Butterflies

This week, we received a shipment of salamanders and butterflies from our sister schools. We observed the differences between butterflies and caterpillars. We also had fun feeding  salamanders which are still in their juvenile forms. Soon, they will grow arms, legs, and lungs, and will run around on ground. We are so excited!
